The quran does not support geocentricism
GEOCENTRICISM- an earth-centred view of the cosmos that places a motionless earth at the centre of the universe and all celestial bodies travel around the earth. This was the prevailing understanding of the universe prior to the 16th century when Copernicus proposed a sun-centered (heliocentric) view of the universe.
Atheists and Islams enemies constantly try to discredit the scientific accuracy of the quran by saying it promotes the notion of geocentrcism,IT DOES NOT.THERE IS NO VERSE IN THE QURAN THAT STATES THAT CELESTIAL BODIES TRAVEL AROUND THE EARTH.THE QURAN DOES NOT DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC ORBITS OF EACH CELESTIAL BODY(EARTH,MOON,SUN,COMETS ETC.)—WHY SHOULD IT?—–IT IS NOT A TEXTBOOK OF SCIENCE BUT A BOOK OF SIGNS.
QURAN-36-40
وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
“wakoelloen fi falaki yasbahoon”
They(all celestial bodies) swim in an orbit—–Scholars are of the opnion that this verse states that all celestail bodies(INCLUDING THE EARTH) move in an orbit.THE VERSE THUS NEGATES THE IDEA OF A MOTIONLESS EARTH.Copernicus was right when he proposed the concept of planets orbiting the sun but was WRONG WHEN HE SUGGESTED THE SUN WAS MOTIONLESS.THE ABOVE VERSE SUGGESTS THE SUN HAS AN ORBIT AND IS NOT MOTIONLESS WICH IS PERFECTLY ALIGNED WITH MODERN SCIENCE.
